Our Anderson Petit verdot vines are 21 years old this year (planted 1999). So, although Petit Verdot is definitely classed as an alternative grape variety, we have enough experience with it that it’s not alternative to us! We know it’s quirks, and it’s strengths & weaknesses in the vineyard & winery, and it has become one of the core red wines we are now known for.
We love it’s combination of richness and softness, and the spiciness to the fruit character. It’s very food friendly, and can be enjoyed with a variety of dishes.
