"We handpicked our Shiraz and half of our Saperavi this week.

Saperavi is a new variety we have in our vineyard and it is an ancient Georgian red grape. It is fermenting right now and smells awesome – like exotic spices and dark forest fruits and black cherries.

Attached is a photo of our winemaker Brendan aerating the first of our Shiraz ferments.  Seven tonnes of vibrant Rutherglen goodness, that will eventually make its way to our Sparkling Shiraz.  Another picking for this will come on Friday.  Happy winemaker so far......

"We kicked off with Chardonnay on the 15th of Feb, almost 3 weeks later than our first pick in 2016. The weather has been fantastic with steady ripening and great flavour development. Our second week of vintage brought in a fresh and floral batch of Muscat for bubbles...

"20 tonnes so far of sparkling Chardonnay base wine destined for our footsteps NV Chardonnay Pinot Noir. The flavours are looking good, with a little more acidity than usual so far, which is nice."

"Vintage 2017 kicked off today with an early harvest of Muscat for our Sparkling Lizzie. The grapes have great flavour, and if the rest of vintage 2017 follows suit, it should be an excellent year!"
