The news that the Chambers Muscat Rutherglen Rosewood Vineyards Rare NV was the only wine awarded 98 points in the latest issue of the Wine Spectator's Insider Newsletter (Volume 8, no. 11 14 March 2012) is worth sharing!
In their 25th anniversary buying guide, the prestigious Americal publication 'Wine & Spirits' categorised Chambers Rosewood Winery in the top 100 wineries of 2011.
While the Chambers family were not surprised to see their much acclaimed Rare Muscat receive such accolades ($300 per $375ml bottle), they were delighted to find their Grand Muscat and entry level Rutherglen Muscat also sharing the limelight.
Just short of 6,500 wines were tasted and assessed, covering all styles from champagne to sherry and a huge array of international wineries from the long established to the little known.
Winemaker Stephen Chambers, 6th generation of his family to make wine at Rosewood says, 'It is a great honour to be included in a list such as this. It proves what can be achieved no matter what the size of the business, when you have a quality product'. More »
